Buffalo Soldiers National Museum

The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum (BSNM) will undertake a one-year project to design, fabricate, and install four new immersive exhibits utilizing interactive, multi-sensory displays, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), life-sized dioramas, and interactive audio-visual installations to bring history to life. These technologies will allow visitors to walk through key historical moments, from the battlefields of the Civil War to modern day military service, providing immersive experiences that are both educational and emotionally resonant, fostering a deeper understanding of African American military service and its role in shaping civil rights and social progress. BSNM staff will also develop educational curricula that align with state educational standards, providing valuable resources for school programs and educators. These new exhibits and teacher resources will bring to life the contributions of African American military service members through interactive, multi-sensory displays, augmented reality, life-sized dioramas, and educational touchpoints.
