Log Number: MH-259455-OMS-26
The Tuskegee University will continue advancing the goals of the HBCU History and Culture Access Consortium (HCAC) initiative beyond the pilot phase into a permanent alliance. Project activities include strengthening archival operations, and expanding professional development opportunities to their student workers, volunteers, and future interns. The project will support a digital humanities program manager, who will process, digitize, and assign metadata to documents, photographs, and audio and video recordings. This project will also support expanded mentorship opportunities for undergraduate students, with paid internships through which the interns will gain new skills, abilities, and connections to be successful members of the field. The outcome of project activities will be continued improvement of the archive strategic plan to strengthen their operations and efficiency, which aligns with their overall institutional goals of academic excellence, operational efficiency, advances in infrastructure and resources, and community and strategic partnerships.
