Centennial Library

The Centennial Library at Edward Waters University will establish a foundational archival infrastructure for the University’s historical collections. Project activities include conducting a comprehensive collection survey, creating an accessioning system, recruiting and hiring student interns, arranging and describing the materials, and creating finding aids that make the collections discoverable and accessible to researchers. The project supports the hiring of an expert consultant to establish archival systems and a suite of archival policies and procedures aligned with national professional standards as well as providing training for library personnel and student interns. The outcome of project activities will be the establishment of in-house archival expertise with the necessary systems and support for sustainable archival stewardship providing access to collections of local, regional, and national significance.
