Louisiana Civil Rights Museum

Log Number: MH-260685-OMS-26

The Louisiana Civil Rights Museum will develop a responsive and engaging education outreach initiative to serve their community by addressing the museum’s need for a quality education curriculum and providing free educational resources to teachers. Project activities include designing a curriculum that includes lesson plans, virtual tours, and on-site field trips to the museum. The project involves hiring an education specialist to lead a teacher advisory panel to inform the project design, while incorporating guest speakers and other partners into the curriculum content. The outcome of project activities will be an opportunity for up to 3,000 students to access and interact with the history of civil rights by providing teachers with resources that complement their engagement with the Louisiana Civil Rights Museum and help them learn how civil discourse can unite Americans.
