Building Public Access The Chautauqa County Historical Society (CCHS) will use the grant to research, create, and promote an exhibit detailing the County's links with Abraham Lincoln. The exhibit, housed at the McClurg Museum, will illustrate the connection between five residents and the president. The public will gain greater access to the Society's collection of original source materials and artifacts that tell five unique local stories from Chautauqua's past. The Museum will be the site of a series of CCHS-sponsored preview events for museum members, educators, and the public; a speaker's series; and a children's summer enrichment program. CCHS will increase exposure to the exhibit during the school year via learning kits prepared expressly for classroom.
