Pechanga Band of Luiseño Mission Indians

Log Number: MN-00-18-0024-18

The Pechanga Band of Luiseo Indians will create four new virtual museum exhibits from two archival collections recently acquired by the tribe. The archival collections consist of thousands of items, including personal papers, photographs, and documents that span the careers of two individuals--a tribal elder, who was politically active in the tribal community for over 50 years, and a history professor, whose work focuses on the history of Southern California. Two part-time archival specialists will organize, catalog, scan, and prepare proper storage for these collections. A virtual exhibit will be created to share information with the tribal community and scholars. The digital exhibit will be a permanent part of the existing Pechanga Virtual Museum, which is located in the Pechanga Government Center.
