Log Number: MN-03-08-0004-08

McGrath Native Village Council will train McGrath Museum volunteers, students, and local archivists to properly accession, archive, and store collections from the Tochak Historical Society. Local individuals who have an interest in, and knowledge of, the history and culture of the Upper Kuskokwim Valley will be trained specifically in archival accessioning, indexing, organization, database creation, and proper storage of historical photographs and documents. The goal of this project is to make the collection available to the general public, organizations, schools, and university students for local research and enjoyment purposes. An archivist/consultant from the University of Alaska Fairbanks will train the McGrath archivists and volunteers who will work on this project.
