Barona Band of Mission Indians

Log Number: MN-03-10-0005-10

The Barona Cultural Center and Museum, a tribally owned and operated institution located on the Barona Indian Reservation, will use its grant to purchase storage equipment for the museum collection in the Center’s new curatorial and research facility. The new facility is currently undergoing refurbishment with an anticipated fall 2010 move-in date. The new storage equipment will be used to house pieces from the museum’s collection of approximately 4,000 artifacts along with archival and photograph collections and a reference library. This project will help preserve the Barona cultural heritage for future generations, as the current facilities pose threats to the preservation and security of the artifacts and archives.
