Ka`ala Farm, Inc.

Kaʻala Farm will transform itself into a “Living Museum” by preserving archeological sites located on the Kaʻala Learning Center’s property and by reframing and deepening the historical narrative to include the Hawaiian community perspective for both local and non-local visitors. Project activities will include researching and developing tours of outdoor trails and archeological sites, recruiting and training community member docents, and implementing tailored tours for community members and non-community visitors. By expanding opportunities for community members to tell their own stories and properly preserving archeological sites, Kaʻala Farm will teach visitors a more complete history of the Waiʻanae region and help develop a community knowledgeable about their own history.
