Comanche Indian Tribe

The Comanche Nation Tribal Historic Preservation Office will establish the "Taa Numu Suabetaiu": Our Comanche Knowledge- Comanche Nation Digital Cultural Heritage Portal, a Tribally sovereign, publicly accessible digital archive built on the Mukurtu Content Management System. The portal will be a Tribally curated, browsable archive of Comanche photographs, documents, oral histories, cultural objects, and language materials. Funds will support the deployment of Mukurtu CMS, digitization of the archival holdings, oral history collection with elders and other cultural knowledge holders, staff training in digital preservation, and community outreach. The project will provide direct benefit to Tribal members and the surrounding community.
