The University of Oklahoma received this grant which was transferred to the University of Alabama in December 2025. The University of Alabama will conduct a comprehensive assessment of community needs related to advancing text analytics data services in academic libraries. The project will investigate the current state of library services relevant to text analytics and identify best practices by surveying and interviewing stakeholders, including librarians, library users, and LIS educators. The research team will also establish and solidify partnerships with data librarians. This work will lay the foundation for a subsequent project focused on developing text analytics service models for academic libraries and creating tailored training resources for data librarians.
