University of Washington, The Information School

The University of Washington Information School, through its Center for Advances in Libraries, Museums, and Archives, will develop a research and action roadmap for the library, archives, and museum (LAM) sectors. This planning project addresses a field-wide challenge: while libraries, archives, and museums share overlapping research interests and community roles, they lack a unified, evidence-based framework to guide cross-sector inquiry and professional development. The project will convene LAM stakeholders to validate and refine cross-sector research themes, co-design high value research questions, produce a strategic research roadmap, and develop actionable pilot concepts. The resulting roadmap will articulate validated research priorities, clarify areas of shared value and sector distinction, and propose tangible next steps for collaborative applied research, knowledge exchange models, and professional development innovations.
