Historical Society of Pennsylvania

Log Number: ST-255007-OMS-23

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania will preserve the Penn Family Papers, a collection of materials related to William Penn, the Penn family, and the creation of the colony of Pennsylvania. The documents are comprised of 56 linear feet of materials and 222 volumes, which include correspondence, legal and government records, surveys, deeds, and account books. Project activities will include conservation treatments, such as cleaning, mending, rehousing, and enhanced archival processing.  As a result of the project, staff will update a finding aid for the collection with newly conserved items for the benefit of scholars and researchers studying the history of Pennsylvania’s founding and the development of its government.
