National Medal for Museum and Library Service
The National Medal for Museum and Library Service is the nation’s highest honor for institutions that make significant and exceptional contributions to their communities. Since 1994, IMLS has presented the award to institutions that demonstrate extraordinary and innovative approaches to community service.
2020 Anniversary Year
2020 marks the 25th anniversary of IMLS National Medals! We invite you to join us in a year of celebration of a quarter of a century honoring the outstanding work of libraries and museums all across our nation, and taking a look at where they are now.
Due to this banner year, instead of opening up applications for FY 2020 Medals, we’ll focusing on this exciting new campaign, to include an evaluation, which we’ll share with you as part of our ongoing commitment to be a learning organization.
